Homebuyer Education
Many financial institutions require home buyers to attend a home buyers’ class as a condition of financing. Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) offers a free seminar to help prospective home buyers work their way through the decisions and details that buying a home can entail. Complete the course and save money on AHFC closing costs. The seminar is open to all buyers, whether it’s your first house or your fifth — AHFC’s HomeChoice class is an 8-hour seminar. You'll hear from experts on topics such as title insurance, energy-efficient homes, how to get a home loan, earnest-money agreements, home inspections, money management and budgeting.
